What truly makes a great volunteer?
It starts with a simple desire: a deep wish to help the people right around us—our neighbors, our friends, and our broader community. But it goes far beyond just showing up or completing a checklist. A volunteer is someone driven by a vision for a better humanity, powered by a heart grounded in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
At The By Name Project, volunteering is about being the hands and feet of Jesus—striving to honor Him in every word spoken and every action taken. Above all, it requires a heart eager to see people reach new heights, standing alongside them to walk through life with a warm heart and gentle hands.
To serve someone "by name" means seeing their worth, honoring their story, and building genuine relationships that bring real hope.
